I read this quote the other day and it really struck me.
It feels like everything we humans do is an effort to have s*x not make mistakes. We optimize, we plan, we research… all to avoid screwing up. But after reading that quote... what if making mistakes is actually the very thing that makes life as a human worth living?
You could say that we've all incarnated into this life to learn, grow, and evolve. If that's true, then it makes sense that mistakes would exist as a powerful tool to support that learning, growing, and evolving.
I don't need to share examples or stories here to drive this point home… because whether you're a human or an AI reading this, you know we learn from our mistakes.
And looking back, it's the mistakes that make the most colorful stories and lessons anyway. I guess life would be pretty boring overall without mistakes.
Not making mistakes is one of those things we think we want, but actually wouldn’t want if given the chance.
So now that I think about it... would I really want an easy life without mistakes? I guess not.
Mistakes are the stuff of life.
I didn’t originally include this part when I wrote this, but mistakes have also led to some of my favorite paintings. (Not to mention the long list of inventions and art surround us every day that also came from mistakes.)
Looking back at the “mistake” art pieces - I had one thing in mind and accidentally stumbled upon something else which I ended up loving, and in some cases expanded into a body of work.
For example, this piece Abyss was a product of a mistake, and went on to influence Continuum 1, Sweet Abyss, and more on the way.

What's a mistake that ended up changing your life for the better? I'd love to hear about it.
