The process of making this painting I’ve used once before, back in 2020. I put some paint on both canvas, place them face to face, and swipe them across each other.

This time, I had a sense of the colors and how they would mix during the process, and wanted to capture the range of blues and purples contrasting with the dark red background.

Before I finished this top layer of blue, purple, and white, I had experimented with a dark blue and dark red color combination. I kind of liked it that way, but didn’t love it.

This piece makes me think of tall, jagged, snow capped mountains. I make paintings like this to hold interest for years and years… each time you look at it, you see different things and different compositions. It can also be hung in any orientation, constantly evolving like nature’s landscape itself.
