Archival quality print of my painting, "Saturn Return II" - part of a two painting series created during my own Saturn Return period.
Probably one of my favorite paintings so far. I let myself experiment a bit more here and turned out great. Noticing I’m feeling attached to a certain “style” of painting I’ve been doing lately… so I get to get even more experimental moving forward.
A common period of time to study in astrology, the Saturn Return is when the planet Saturn travels back to the same place it was at the moment you were born. This happens about every 29 years (think of it like the Sun taking 1 year to travel back to the same place it was when you were born... Saturn takes 29 years).
This period of time can be marked by facing lessons, challenges, and upgrades into a new chapter of life. Typically feels like becoming an adult for the first time, at least it did for me. I made these paintings on the exact day of my Saturn Return in 2021, even though this period can usually be felt over months and years.
